Tom Hardy in San Francisco to Shoot New Marvel Film “Venom”

Heads up Tom Hardy fans! The upcoming Marvel feature film, “Venom” – a film about a Spider-Man villain - is set to be filming scenes in San Francisco these next two weeks.

Residents in several neighborhoods were alerted by L.O.Z. Productions and Film SF after notices were posted in buildings near the locations where scenes are scheduled.

The announcement itself stated the production will be shooting “Antidote” for the next two weeks – something Hoodline called a “bit of a misdirection.” Despite the name, production crews and Tom Hardy are expected to be in town shooting scenes for Venom.

The production is scheduled for North Beach this week, with closures planned on the night of Thursday, January 18th on Taylor Street between Greenwich and Broadway and Filbert between Jones and Mason. The scene that will be shot in those closures is supposed to be a precision driver on a motorcycle that will head down Taylor before turning right on Filbert.

Next week, production is expected to take place in the Tenderloin until midnight on January 23rd and until 2 a.m. on January 24th.

According to a report by SF Weekly, the film could also be shooting scenes in and around Edinburgh Castle on the evening of January 24th after a tipster revealed that their building near the Castle had received a notice.

The movie itself is scheduled to be released in October.
