Two-Alarm San Jose Fire Displaces Two People, Collapses Roof of Two-Story Home

Two people were displaced in a fire Saturday evening that may have started because of a problem with the wiring in the home's attic, a San Jose Fire Department official said.

Fire crews responded to the two-alarm fire in a two-story home in the 3000 block of Rose Creek Drive at 8:44 p.m. and were at the home at 8:49 p.m., San Jose Fire Department Captain Fernando Munoz said.

Munoz said neither firefighters nor civilians were injured in the blaze that caused the roof to collapse. Fire officials did not have an estimate of the damage to the home, but Munoz called the damage "pretty
extensive."

Fire crews kept the fire contained to the attic and had the fire knocked down at 9:23 p.m.

The two residents of the home will stay with relatives.
