Firefighters on Friday battled and contained a two-alarm house blaze in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood.

The fire, which was reported around 7:10 p.m., sparked on the 1800 block of Polk Street between Jackson and Washington streets, according to fire officials.

No one was injured or displaced, officials said, but the American Red Cross responded to the scene as a precaution.
