Two-Alarm Blaze Burns Multiple Structures in Antioch

Firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire Thursday that damaged two homes and displaced two people in Antioch, Contra Costa Fire District officials said.

The fire in the 2000 block of Crestwood Drive started as a one-alarm brush fire that quickly spread to two houses, one at 2032 Crestwood Drive and another at 310 Minner Ave., according to Capt. Lisa Martinez of Contra Costa Fire. Fire officials said there also were sheds destroyed and fences burned in the blaze.

Mutliple firefighting teams were on the scene quickly and extinguished the flames. Martinez said some of the crews were in the area for training duties.

The blaze did about $130,000 in damage to the Crestwood Drive home and about $30,000 in damage to the Minner Avenue home, Martinez said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
