The man who was killed at the Bayfair BART station in San Leandro Saturday afternoon was an innocent bystander, according to police.
The shooting happened at the bus zone outside the station just before 12:30 p.m.
BART police said two group of people started shooting at each other and the victim, an African-American in his 40s was caught in the crossfire. A woman was also injured in the shooting after being grazed by a bullet, but she is expected to recover.
Police said they have arrested one person in connection to the shooting and they were looking for as many as six others.
The BART station was closed during the investigation. The station reopened around 7 p.m.
