A Union City police officer killed a man Monday night, who police say was threatening officers with a pipe.
Officials say the suspect, who hasn't been identified, was threatening the officers at a home on Saturn Way near Contempo Park when the officer shot him.
The suspect was on parole and had a warrant for resisting officers, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Union City Police and the Alameda County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident.
The officer who pulled the trigger is on standard administrative leave.
