Victims Turn Tables on Attackers During Home Invasion

Three people were injured in a home invasion shooting in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood overnight.

The incident happened after 2 a.m. at Elmira and Industrial near Bayshore Boulevard at the Highway 101 – Interstate 280 junction.

Police say it appears one of the victims managed to wrestle a gun away from one of the suspects. “We believe that one of the victims in the house somehow got hold of the gun and shot the suspect,” San Francisco Police Dept. Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.

Two children were in the home at the time. None of the children were hurt.

Two of the three adults suffered life-threatening injuries. One man was shot in the face and was in critical condition. A second man was shot in the foot and was in stable condition Tuesday morning, and a woman was in serious condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to her stomach, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 911, the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
