Virtual Party: Oculus Rift To Chuck E. Cheese

Get ready for the virtual party

Your kids' birthday party is about to get virtual.

But the cheese pizza will still be real.

Chuck E. Cheese, famous for its birthday parties, says it will test the Oculus Rift virtual gaming system in close to thirty of its stores.

The chain, launched by video game pioneer Nolan Bushnell, seems excited by the possibilities of the virtual gaming platform. Oculus Rift itself was recently bought by Facebook for $2 billion.

Chuck E. Cheese says the rollout will be gradual, starting in three of its stores. Soon, though, prepare for a sea of kids staggering around, full of sugar, and waving their hands as they play virtual games.
