Volunteers to Honor 9/11 Victims, Pack Meals for the Hungry

More than 1,000 volunteers are expected to pack meals for the needy and honor 9/11 victims Wednesday in San Francisco, according to organizers.

The San Francisco Meal Pack for 9/11 Day will start at 9 a.m. at Non Plus Ultra SVN West, an event venue at 10 S. Van Ness Ave.

Volunteers will pack as many as 275,000 healthy meals for people in the San Francisco area. Those assisting will include firefighters, members of a veterans commission, faith leaders, lead sponsors and others.

The event is co-hosted by HandsOn Bay Area and the San Francisco Marin Food Bank.
