The holiday ice rink in Walnut Creek will be returning on Nov. 11 for its 12th annual season.
Keeping with tradition, “Walnut Creek on Ice,” as it’s formally known, is returning to the corner of Civic Drive and Broadway. Open skate hours vary, as do classes for novice and skilled ice skaters.
General admission to enter the rink ranges from $12 to $15, while prices for classes and Frequent Skater Passes cost upwards of $100. Those prices include the cost of a skate rental, although people who bring their own should be prepared to pay the full price anyway — a frequent complaint on the rink’s Yelp page.
Other ice rinks in the Bay Area include the Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square in San Francisco, which attracts thousands per year, Downtown Ice in San Jose and the Oakland Ice Center, which is open year round.
