Wanted Fugitive Dines at Palo Alto Home During Manhunt

A Palo Alto homeowner unwittingly hosted a wanted man for dinner.

Hospitality knows no bounds.

A Palo Alto man unwittingly provided a meal -- and shelter -- for a fugitive seeking cover from a manhunt going on outside his door, according to reports.

Reuters reports that Dominique Tabb, 35, was running from police when he landed in a 60-year old man's backyard. Tabb told the man that he had been beaten up by "assailants," and the man welcomed him inside, where the two shared a meal.

The two shared time and space for about four hours, during which time the homeowner received a recorded telephone call from police, describing the suspect they sought. He ignored it, Reuters reported, because he "did not believe Tabb matched the description."

Tabb was only arrested after the man drove him to San Francisco or a train station when he was recognized by a patrol officer.
