Warriors' Stephen Curry to Sit Out Against Mavericks; MRI Reveals Bruised Leg

Warriors guard Stephen Curry, listed as questionable due to a lower left leg injury, was declared out 90 minutes before tipoff Wednesday night against the Mavericks in Dallas.

The Warriors issued a statement stating that Curry underwent an MRI test Wednesday “that revealed a bruised lower left leg” that will keep out of the game at American Airlines Center.

“He might need a couple days, or however long this thing takes to heal,” interim coach Luke Walton said in his pregame news conference.

Curry’s status listed as “day-to-day,” suggesting he likely will not play Thursday night when the Warriors face the Rockets in Houston.

“As a team, we told the guys we need everyone to step up,” Walton said. “But not individually ... it’s got to be a team effort to fill that type of void.”

Curry injured the leg in the first quarter Monday night against Sacramento. He did not leave the game for an extended period and actually scored 17 points in a three-minute period near the of the first half.
