Warriors Rout Spurs to Clinch No. 1 Seed, Improve to 70-9

The Warriors join the 1995-96 Bulls as the only teams in NBA history to reach 70 wins in a season.

With their rout of the Spurs Thursday, the Warriors became the second team to win 70 games in a season and clinched the No. 1 seed in the West.

The Warriors join the 1995-96 Bulls as the only teams in NBA history to reach 70 wins in a season. Those Bulls finished with 72 wins that season, and the Warriors have a chance to surpass that mark if they win their final three games of the season.

Rather than try to beat the Spurs from behind the arc, Stephen Curry attacked the rim Thursday night. He led the way with 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting with only three 3-pointers.
