Whoopi Goldberg Teams up With Local Woman to Launch Pot Products for Menstrual Cramps

Whoopi Goldberg is teaming up with a Bay Area woman to launch a new medical marijuana startup.

The focus will be women and easing their menstrual cramps.

Goldberg will be the chairwoman and her co-founder, Maya Elisabeth, will be the CEO. The company is called Whoopi & Maya.

"For me, I feel like if you don't want to get high high, this is a product specifically just to get rid of discomfort," Goldberg told Vanity Fair. "Smoking a joint is fine, but most people can't smoke a joint and go to work."

Products will range from edibles to bath soaks. They will be available later next month and will only be sold in California.

Elisabeth already makes marijuana products that are sold in dispensaries throughout San Francisco.
