Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint in Front of Her Home

A woman was carjacked at gunpoint Saturday as she parked her car in front of her home in a residential Mill Valley neighborhood, police said today.

The victim was leaving her car in front of her home on Dorset Lane around 2 p.m. when a white or Hispanic male in his 20s to 30s approached her, according to Detective Sgt. Paul Wrapp.

The man threatened her with a handgun and took her vehicle. He was last seen driving west on Dorset toward Meadow Drive and has not yet been located.

The suspect was described as being around 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and a balding or shaved head. He wore light facial hair, a white shirt and blue jeans, Wrapp said.

The victim's vehicle is a silver 2007 BMW X5 sport utility vehicle with the California license plate 5YZR758.
