Woman, Dog Killed on Evening Walk

Police search for hit and run driver

An evening dog walk turned deadly for an East Bay woman this weekend.

Concord police said 52-year-old Sherree Lindborg was walking her dog SUnday evening around 5:30 on Solano Way when the dog somehow got in the road and was struck by a car.  As Lindborg was caring for the injured animal, police said not one but two other cars struck her.

Concord police Sgt. Jeff Crump told Bay City News the first driver stopped, but the second did not.

Lindborg and her dog both died at the scene, Crump said.

Police describe the driver who fled was a white man in his 20s. He had brown hair with blond tips and was clean-shaven.  That driver had a passenger in his vehicle, who was described as a white female with dark, shoulder-length hair.  Police did not have a vehicle description other than it was a dark color.
