Woman Questioned Over Alviso Death

San Jose police have located a woman considered a person of  interest in the death of a 20-year-old San Jose woman who was found lying in  the middle of an Alviso-area street Monday.

Police pulled over the person of interest, Jennifer Bautista, 19,  at about 10:40 a.m. as she was driving near Tully Road and South Seventh  Street, Officer Jermaine Thomas said.

He declined to give further details on the traffic stop, but said  police are questioning Bautista and a passenger who was in the car.

Police want to talk to Bautista about the death of Norma Leticia  Martinez. Martinez was found injured in front of Our Lady Star of the Sea  church at 1385 Michigan Ave. at about 6:45 a.m. Monday. She died later at a  hospital.

Police said it appears Martinez was pulled along the street by a  vehicle for at least a block, but it is unclear whether she was dragged or  was holding onto the car.

Martinez's older sister said Tuesday that the two women were  involved in an on-again off-again romantic relationship and had recently  broken up.
