Woman Rescued From Balcony of Burning Kentfield Apartment

A woman was rescued Wednesday morning from the rear balcony of her burning Kentfield apartment, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

The fire at 121 Kent Ave. was reported at 9:46 a.m., sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said. A sheriff's deputy arrived two minutes later, but Pittman did not know who rescued the woman.

Another woman suffered smoke inhalation, Pittman said.

The apartment where the rescued woman lives was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and other tenants were evacuated, Pittman said.

The fire was reported contained around 10:25 a.m. and no injuries were reported. Twelve units are impacted by the blaze, according to the sheriff's office.

Firefighters from Kentfield, Ross and Corte Madera and officials with American Red Cross responded to the blaze, Pittman said.
