A San Francisco woman was shot in the buttocks in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood late Thursday night, according to police.

A 47-year old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Turk Street at 11:22 p.m. on Thursday when she heard a gunshot, according to the San Francisco Appeal online newspaper. She then realized she'd been struck by the bullet, according to police, and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital after authorities arrived.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information was immediately available in connection with the shooting.
