SF Hosts Women's World Cup Viewing Party for U.S. Match Vs. France

The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department will host a FIFA Women's World Cup viewing party Friday for the U.S. team's quarterfinals match against France.

The match will be screened at noon at Sue Bierman Park at Washington and Drumm streets along The Embarcadero, according to the department.

Food trucks and soccer-related activities will also be featured at the event.

"We are so proud to support the incredible U.S. women's national soccer team, both for their excellence on the field and their position at the forefront of gender pay equity," San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department General Manager Phil Ginsberg said in a news release.

"It's a powerful experience to cheer alongside hundreds of community members gathered together to celebrate women's sports," Ginsberg said.

The Friday viewing party will be the second of five in San Francisco parks. The July 2 and July 3 semifinals will both be screened at noon at Sue Bierman Park, and the July 7 final will be screened at 8 a.m. at Civic Center Plaza.
