Wragg Fire 95 Percent Contained at 8,051 Acres, Full Containment Delayed

Firefighters have nearly contained a wildfire in Napa and Solano counties, Cal Fire officials said.

The Wragg Fire was 95 percent contained as of Saturday evening, according to Cal Fire. Officials, who earlier in the day said they hoped to achieve 100 percent containment by Monday, said later that they expect to have the blaze fully contained Thursday.

The fire started July 22 near the intersection of Highway 128 and Wragg Canyon Road and has burned 8,051 acres, Cal Fire officials said.

Firefighters have stopped the fire's forward progress, and are now focusing on mop up and tactical patrol operations in an effort to reach full containment, according to a statement by Cal Fire.

Fire officials and law enforcement have lifted all evacuation orders and all roads are open to traffic, Cal Fire officials said, adding that a Lake Solano campground remains closed to accommodate fire equipment.

There are currently no structures threatened. Two outbuildings have been gutted and four more have been damaged. One residence has also been damaged.

There are currently 984 firefighters on scene with 55 fire engines and 11 water tenders, according to Cal Fire. No injuries have been reported so far.
