Yahoo Breach Could Affect Gmail, Hotmail, AOL Users

The leak of 400,000 usernames and passwords for Yahoo users could be bigger.

More than 400,000 Yahoo users have had their usernames and passwords stolen by hackers, according to reports.

But the data file posted online by a hacker group called D33D also included information for users of Google's Gmail, Microsoft's Hotmail, and AOL, according to reports.

The news came from security firm Rapid7, which is working to close the security breach -- reportedly within the Yahoo Contributor Network -- which hackers exploited.

Officials from Yahoo did not respond to a request for comment.
