“Zeus,” the Mountain View Police Dog Sniffs Out 50 Pounds of Meth

The Mountain View Police Department said Tuesday that its K-9 named Zeus found $240,000 during a recent traffic stop and a large amount of methamphetamine in Santa Clara.

Zeus alerted officers to the exterior of the vehicle and during a subsequent search officers located a hidden compartment containing a large amount of U.S. currency, police said.

Zeus also located 50 pounds of methamphetamine at another location in Santa Clara, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

Mountain View Police spokesman Sgt. Saul Jaeger said the dog is assigned to undercover work on the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team.
