Adobe Admits Apple Moves Could Hurt Profits

Apple cracks down on allowing Adobe's code anywhere near mobile devices

Apple isn't just fighting with Google, but also Adobe, and the latter admits it might ultimately hurt the company's profit potential.

In an SEC filing, Adobe declared:

To the extent new releases of operating systems or other third-party products, platforms or devices, such as the Apple iPhone or iPad, make it more difficult for our products to perform, and our customers are persuaded to use alternative technologies, our business could be harmed.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has had harsh words for Adobe recently, declaring them "lazy" and Flash a security problem and device resource hog.

Apple turned the screws earlier this week by changing the rules for its Application store that offers apps for iPhones and iPads to make it so that software developed using Adobe software would be rejected.

Adobe still enjoys a market penetration of 96 percent of computers with the Flash Player installed.
