Would you live in a shipping container to have one of the most sought after zip codes in the Bay Area?
That is exactly what some people are essentially doing in Lafayette, California where the average price of a home is up to $1.5 million.
Some families in response are getting creative at ways to get priced off, even getting their home delivered on a trailer.
Ben Munday is one of those residents getting their homes delivered. Munday purchased an empty lot for a couple hundred thousand dollars nestled in the Hills of Orinda.
Workers delivered and stacked his new home: two housing modules that arrived in shipping containers.
"I got a knife to it and got to cut my way into it and unwrap the house like a birthday present," Munday said.
The finished product is a 2,500-square foot prefabricated home. The home was build by Connect Homes in its Southern California warehouse at a price Munday could afford -- $600,000.

In addition to the cost of the land, Munday's home is now valued at more than $2 million.
Amy Price, a real estate agent, said the average price in the area now stands at $1 million and you cannot find a home in the $600,000 range.
"That's a great deal," Price said of Munday's home.
Munday believes home deliveries will be the future of real estate.
"I think building a house in factory seems to make so much sense to me," Munday said.
The owner of Connect Homes said the majority of business is now in the Bay Area, which recent shipments to Palo Alto and Calistoga.
