Air District Issues Air Quality Advisory for Smoke in Bay Area

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality advisory through Friday as smoke from wildfires in the Sierras moves into the region.

The smoke is expected to drift into the Bay Area late Thursday night and into Friday morning but is expected to remain aloft and not exceed federal health standards, according to the air district.

The district is encouraging people to stay inside with windows and doors closed if they smell smoke.
