Suspicious Backpack Investigation Shuts Down Terminal, Prompts Delays at San Jose International Airport

The discovery of a suspicious backpack forced San Jose International Airport officials to lock down Terminal B on Tuesday morning.

The lockdown and investigation prompted flight delays and slowed travel for an estimated 2,000 passengers.

Airport spokeswoman Vicki Day said nothing dangerous was found in the bag. The backpack was found on the second floor of Terminal B in an area where passengers wait after they go through security.

At 11:55 a.m., airport officials said Terminal B was safe to re-enter and passengers were being allowed back in.
