Alameda County DA Investigator Tied to Racist Text Scandal, Placed on Leave: Source

A second investigator with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office was placed on leave Monday in connection with misconduct, a source told NBC Bay Area.

The DA administrator, who was not identified, is a former Oakland police officer, the source said. He was placed on leave in connection with the racist text scandal.

The administrator did not send texts but was on the chain as a recipient, the source said.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf has said even those who tolerated such texts and didn't properly report them is in the wrong and will be punished.

Last week, an investigator with the DA's office was placed on leave after it was revealed he was connected with the sexual misconduct scandal.
