Alice Waters Cooks Up Twitter Plot To Do Good

While Twitter is busy overthrowing foreign governments, local locavore Alice Waters is trying to keep things local.

The chef behind the famed Chez Panisse in Berkeley joined Twitter last week but remained silent on the San Francisco-based microblogging site until this week.

Now only two tweets into her new virtual life, Waters is trying to do good with the social network here at home.

Waters tweeted Monday that she was going to Twitter's San Francisco headquarters to launch a campaign to support Edible Schoolyards, the Chez Panisse Foundation supported organization that maintains a one-acre organic garden and kitchen classroom at the Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley.

Specific details of the program were not available.
