Antioch Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting

The Antioch Police Department and the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in the 2000 block of Mokelumne Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene Thursday, they tried to stop the suspect vehicle. The driver fled from the scene which led to a pursuit, during the course of which the suspect rammed the vehicle into an Antioch police patrol vehicle near Wawona Court, police said. An officer fired shots wounding the suspect, according to police. Officers located a firearm in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. According to police, the investigation is in its early stages and no further information will be released at this time.
