Victim Identified in Antioch Fatal Road Rage Shooting

A 57-year-old man fatally shot Sunday night in Antioch has been identified as Raul Garcia from San Pablo, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

Antioch police responded to a report of a shooting victim at St. Christopher Court, a residential cul-de-sac, around 9:35 p.m.

Garcia was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital, but did not survive.

Investigators believe the shooting happened a couple of blocks away, in the 3400 block of Rio Grande Drive, after a confrontation with the suspect at the Chevron gas station at 1235 California Ave. in Pittsburg.

The shooting has been described as a road rage incident.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available Thursday evening, but anyone with information that may help investigators close this case is asked to call Detective Gonzalez at (925) 779-6923.
