Armed Robbery Foiled In Oakland

OPD is looking for female suspect.

Oakland police are looking for a woman whose alleged robbery attempt was foiled by a gas station clerk Sunday night.

Police say a woman walked into the Arco station on Hegenberger Road near Coliseum way just before 10 p.m.

Witnesses say the woman pointed a gun at the cashier, demanded some money and threatened to shoot.

The cashier grabbed the woman, pushed her out the door and managed to grab the gun in the process.

“He was very brave," one witness said. “I told him, he was an angel sent, I’ve never been in that type of situation before. I thank god he did what he did”.

The woman ran away. No one reported any injuries.
