AT&T and Verizon Will Sell iPad 3 With 4G LTE: Report

The last piece of the puzzle appears to have been confirmed by The Wall Street Journal. The publication is confidently reporting that AT&T and Verizon will carry the iPad 3 with speedy 4G LTE.

Well, that seems to put an end to the questions in our rumor round up from last week. Whether the iPad 3 would support 4G LTE or not has been up in the air, but signs pointing to a larger battery fueled supported the inclusion.

Although the WSJ mentioned only AT&T and Verizon, it says it was unable to learn if Sprint and T-Mobile will also carry the iPad 3 (neither carriers sell any iPads right now). Last year, Sprint became the third major U.S. carrier to sell the iPhone. T-Mobile has never sold an iOS devices on its network.

Further cementing some of the rumors on the the iPad 3, iMore says its reliable sources have pinpointed the iPad 3 announcement date for March 7, corroborating a report by AllThingsD.

More wild, a separate Wall Street Journal report says that Apple has 8-inch iPad displays floating around. The WSJ cited supply chain personnel who have reportedly seen the display and say that the resolution on the 8-inch panel will be similar to the iPad 2.

Is Apple planning to finally split its iPad line into "mini" and "pro" models? Never one to follow, Apple's stuck by its 9.7-inch 1024x768 resolution iPad and iPad 2 for two years, while competitors like Samsung have rushed to flood the market with tablets of all screen sizes.

We've all heard rumors of a 7-inch iPad before, but this is the first time an 8-inch one is said to be in the works.

Either way, set your calendars for Wednesday, March 7 because we'll be updating DVICE as Apple unveils its next tablet.
