Taste buds, don't fail us now: Bacon Camp is coming to San Francisco.
From hard-working bacon professionals to plain old bacon enthusiasts, all are invited. You can sign up to bring a dish of your own, or judge the offerings in a bacon cook-off.
Previous hits: Bacon Ice Cream, cookies, and the Bacone, a handheld deep-friend cone of bacon, with eggs and hash browns and cheese inside. It's like an ice cream cone of breakfast; just the thing if you're looking to outgrow your jeans.
Not just limited to San Francisco, Bacon Camp events have spread to Vancouver, Seattle, Miami and Ohio.
Bacon Camp SF happens Saturday, May 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at Chez Poulet.
Suggested donation: $10. Proceeds go to the San Francisco Food Bank, so it's for a good cause. Well, a good cause unless you're a pig.
