Bancroft Middle School in San Leandro was ordered to shelter in place Tuesday afternoon as police officers searched for a robbery suspect in the area, officials said.
San Leandro police say they arrested the suspect and the shelter in place had been lifted as of 2:34 p.m.
The San Leandro Unified School District in a tweet said police assisted California Highway Patrol in the area of MacArthur and Estudillo.
