It's been 14 years since BART riders were able to use the bathrooms in underground stations.
And on Thursday at 5 p.m. BART officials will discuss reopening them - again - at a board meeting in Oakland.
The restrooms were locked up for security reasons after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Restrooms were shuttered at 10 stations, SFGate reports: Embarcadero, Montgomery, Powell, Civic Center, 16th Street Mission and 24th Street Mission in San Francisco and Lake Merritt, 12th Street, 19th Street and Downtown Berkeley in the East Bay.
Last year, BART said reopening the restrooms would cost about $1 million, with most of that going toward the six people it will take to clean, monitor and repair them.
