Bay Area ‘Gilmore Girls' Fans Wait for Hours at Luke's Diners Pop-Ups

Thanks to Netflix, "Gilmore Girls" fans across the Bay Area were treated to a true Luke's Diner experience on Wednesday.

The streaming site outfitted several local coffee joints with Luke's memorabilia, including coffee sleeves, baseball caps and aprons. The pop-ups lasted from 7 a.m. until noon and were in celebration of the show's revival series, set to debut on Nov. 25.

At Roy's Station in San Jose, a line of about 40 people snaked around the building at 10:30 a.m. Roy's had already run out of take-home memoribilia for fans, but those waiting in line didn't seem to care.

Angel Santos, who spent two hours in the queue, said, "Even though they don't have the tees or the coffee sleeves, it's still worth going."

Other local coffee joints that welcomed Gilmore groupies on Wednesday, include Palio Café in San Francisco and Hive, a Place to Bee and Awaken Café, both in Oakland.
