Thousands of Bay Area Students Take Part in Global Youth Climate Strike

Hundreds of high schools and middle school students from around the Bay Area plan to walk out of class Friday as part of the worldwide Youth Climate Strike.

The walkout is all in an effort to demand a green new deal and advocate for Congress to take action on a number of environmental issues.

Below is a full list of the 20 places students plan to gather in the Bay:

Sacramento

9AM – California State Capitol - West Steps, 10th and Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA

North Bay & San Francisco

8:30AM – Petaluma Regional Library, then march towards the freeway overpass overlooking Rt. 101 on East Washington. 100 Fairgrounds Drive, Petaluma.

9AM – Sonoma Plaza, Sonoma, CA

10AM – Nancy Pelosi’s Office - 90 7th Street, San Francisco, CA

11AM – Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa, CA

11AM – Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley Middle School WALKOUT. Cherry Street, Petaluma, CA

11AM – Marin Civic Center - 10 Avenue Of Flags, San Rafael, CA

12PM & 12:30PM – Sebastopol Square Walkout and Rally, 6908 Weeks Way, Sebastopol, CA

3:30PM – Napa County Executive Office - 1195 3rd St, Napa, CA

East Bay

8AM – Encinal HS students gather Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave then march to Crab Cove.

12PM – Encinal HS students Rally at Crab Cove, 1231 McKay Ave, Alameda
