Behold Melissa Perello's Long-Awaited Frances

Eater SF has a look around the shiny new interior of Frances, Melissa Perello's new Castro restaurant that opened just last night.

The space—which used to be Palencia—encompasses just under 50 seats, including a handful at the bar. Michael Baushke (who also did Ubuntu) is responsible for the design, and there's a monotype black and white photo series currently adorning the walls.

As for the food side of the equation, it's clear from a look at the menu that Perello is blending her fine dining background (Fifth Floor, Charles Nob Hill, Aqua) with an approachable neighborhood restaurant.
