Big Break At Outside Lands For Sonoma's Easy Leaves

Local boys make good on the big stage in San Francisco.

The homespun country boys from Sonoma can't afford Outside Lands tickets.

But that's all right, because the Easy Leaves are going to be on stage.

The country music songwriting duo -- which met via open mics in 2008, when the Hopmonk Tavern was still the Powerhouse Brewery in Sebastopol -- will take the stage at noon on Sunday, on the same bill as acts like Willie Nelson, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported.

Guitarist-singer Sage Fifield and bassist-singer Kevin Carducci like to say that this is the summer in which they "turned semi-pro," playing enough gigs to make day jobs "a thing of the past," the newspaper reported.

Carducci, the former banjo player, says the gig is a good get. "I wouldn't probably be able to go if we weren't playing because I don't have money to throw at festivals any more," he told the newspaper.

There will be a drum set as well as pedal steel and slide guitars to fill out the pair's sound.
