One person was injured Thursday afternoon following an accident involving two big rigs on Interstate 580 between Livermore and Tracy.
The person suffered only minor injuries but the accident caused a traffic backup and shut down lanes eastbound three and four, according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision also sparked a small grass fire.
At 5 p.m., Google maps showed that traffic was backed up eastbound I-580 for about 12 miles.
No other information was immediately available.
