An overturned big-rig carrying dirt blocked all lanes of northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Walnut Creek Thursday morning, snarling the early morning commute.
The big-rig accident was reported on northbound I-680 near North Main Street about 6:35 a.m. and is also blocking two southbound lanes of 680, according to the according to the California Highway Patrol. A Sig-alert was issued at 7 a.m.

The NBC Bay Area chopper flew overhead showing some type of sand-like substance spread all over the road.
The male driver of the big-rig and female driver of a Toyota were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, CHP spokesman Officer John Fransen said.
All lanes reopened about 11:15 a.m. after crews removed the big-rig and debris from the roadway and made repairs to the center divider, CHP officials said.
