Blue Bottle Coffee Set to Open First Silicon Valley Shop

Blue Bottle Coffee makes its Peninsula debut this week.

The local coffee company that started in a small San Francisco shed, opened an Oakland roastery in 2002 and closed a $25 million round of funding last year thanks to tech investors and Morgan Stanley will open an outpost inside HanaHaus, a new community work space located at 456 University Avenue in Palo Alto, on March 17.

Blue Bottle has attracted a cult following and tapped into an international wave of appreciation for craft coffee since its inception. The company also recently signed a lease to open a cafe in Tokyo, its first foray outside of the United States. According to Business Week, Blue Bottle's $25 million funding in 2014 joined nearly $20 million raised in 2012.
