A body found buried in a San Francisco park last week is now being connected to a notorious bakery out of Oakland.
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the victim had ties to Your Black Muslim Bakery and that he vanished two years ago under suspicious circumstances. The exact ties to the group remain a bit of a mystery.
The bakery is now closed.
The paper identifies the man as Omar Sharif Allah.
The leader of Your Black Muslim Bakery, Yusuf Bey IV, has been behind bars as he awaits trial on charges that he kidnapped two women.
Yusuf Bey IV is the son of the man who founded the bakery back in the 1960s. Bey IV is also accused of killing Oakland Post Editor Chauncey Bailey the August 2007.
City crews found the body, which was wrapped in duct tape and partially buried under a tarp, at a homeless encampment in McLaren Park a little over a week ago.
The paper said the body has been unofficially identified as Sharif Allah, also known as Ronnie Brown based on tattoos found on his body. The Chronicle said the condition of the body was similar to other bakery-related cases.
Allah was on parole for a weapons conviction when he disappeared.
