Boy, 11, on Bicycle Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Vehicle in Danville

An 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle in Danville was seriously injured Sunday after being struck by a vehicle, Danville police said.

At about 12:55 p.m., officers responded to Camino Tassajara and Lomitas Drive on reports of a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist, Danville police Lt. Allan Shields said.

The boy was airlifted to UC Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland with serious injuries, Shields said.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, Shields said.
