A brush fire was burning along the Sunol Grade in Fremont on Sunday afternoon, according to the Fremont Fire Department.
The blaze quickly spread to about 5 acres and was snarling traffic on Interstate 680. The fire was contianed later Sunday as 15, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
