Mark Zuckerberg may be taking part in his own meat revolution down at the Farm, but Berkeley will get its own this summer.
Berkeleyside reports that Chez Panisse chef Aaron Rocchino and his wife are opening an artisan meat shop in the heart of Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto.
The Local Butcher Shop will feature whole animals sourced directly from farms within 150 miles of Berkeley.
The husband and wife duo will focus on grass-fed, sustainably raised meat. The two will cut the animal to order.
The butcher shop will open on Cedar Street in the old Red Hanger Kleaners space, just around the corner from Guerilla Cafe and Philz Coffee.
