An international flight carrying passengers from San Francisco to London Monday night was diverted to Vancouver after a number of crew members fell ill, an airline spokesperson said.
British Airways flight 286 landed without a hitch, but crew members were sent to local hospitals for evaluation, according to a spokesperson. Those employees have since been discharged.
The Airbus 380, which can carry up to 544 passengers, took off from the Bay Area at 7:13 p.m. local time before touching down in Canada at 11:35 p.m.
Airline representatives provided displaced passengers with hotel accommodations and promised to book them on alternative flights.
