Caltrain riders had to start paying more and adjust to service changes starting Monday.
In an effort to close the agency's budget deficit, Caltrain is eliminating eight mid-day trains during the week. That means trains will run hourly instead of every half hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Officials expect the change could save the agency about $2 million.
Also starting Monday, monthly parking fees went up from $20 to $30, with daily parking fees going up by $1, making the fee $3 a day.
Caltrain declared a fiscal emergency in June because of a $3 million budget gap.
