Caltrain Station in San Mateo Reopens After Nonfatal Shooting

Caltrain's San Mateo station was reopened late Friday night after a nonfatal shooting in the transit center parking lot, according to authorities.

The station was closed for about two hours starting around 10 p.m. Friday because of the shooting, according to Caltrain officials.

San Mateo Police Department spokesman Capt. Dave Norris said officers were called to reports of a "disturbance" near Tilton Avenue and B Street around 9 p.m.

Officers found a man who had been shot in the Caltrain station parking lot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Norris said.

No suspects had been arrested late Friday night, Norris said. He said officers believe the shooting was gang-related.

B Street was closed while police investigated, Norris said. Caltrain officials said underground parking at the station was still closed late Friday even though the station had been reopened.
